The Columbine flower is the most recognizable to Colorado gardeners. It is a very showy flower and is easy to germinate. It can be found growing wild in the mountains as well as on rocks and in shaded areas under trees. The white and lavender Columbine flower was adopted as the State Flower of Colorado in 1899.
